As part of the vibrant celebration of Buwan ng Katutubo, our Grades 9 and 10 learners embarked on an enriching Educational Trip to the Tribal Village, Magsaysay Park, from October 9–10, 2023, taking a closer look at the diverse and vibrant cultures that flourish in Davao City.
Our young minds, curious and full of energy, explored different tribal houses, each representing one of the 11 indigenous tribes of Davao City. They were allowed to immerse themselves in these indigenous communities’ remarkable cultures and traditions. The experience was a hands-on lesson in understanding the deep-rooted heritage of our fellow citizens and the importance of cherishing and preserving our rich cultural diversity.
The journey to the Tribal Village was made possible through the collaborative efforts of our school’s Araling Panlipunan Area and the Davao City Tourism Operations Office. This educational trip served as a vibrant tapestry, weaving together the threads of culture, history, and tradition that make our city and country unique. Our learners came away from this experience with knowledge and a greater appreciation for the rich tapestry of cultures that enrich our nation.
