Teacher Education Program (TEP) Benchmarks to St. Mary’s College of Tagum, Inc.

On February 28, 2025, ACD’s Teacher Education Program faculty, program head, student affairs, and registrar visited St. Mary’s College of Tagum, Inc., intending to unravel SMCTI’s traverse to Level III accreditation status and their best practices.

SMCTI warmly welcomed the TEP amid a cold, rainy day. The host school meticulously prepared the enigmatic program; all their teacher education faculty members and administrators were present. After the prayer, both schools delivered their opening remarks; SMCTI presented their pool of esteemed faculty members and administrators through a PowerPoint presentation, followed by their official promotional videos. Then, they presented their most recent accreditation results, showing their strengths and weaknesses and how they will cope with the succeeding accreditations. They showed their timeframe to prepare and accomplish the requirements – which they consider best practice. A question-and-answer portion followed it. After the ACD TEP team asked questions, the SMCTI team felt amazed as ACD presented their best practices. After a mind-blowing exchange of unraveled experiences of both schools, everyone was divided into groups based on their assigned task and proceeded to different offices. Each group was able to get pertinent information deemed helpful to completing the requirements of PAASCU accreditation.

The benchmark visit ended with new information and eagerness to conquer ACD’s Teacher Education Program accreditation.
