The Assumption College of DavaoCommunity Engagement and Services (ACD-CES)-EChamp Volunteers took an active role in the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Election (BSKE) 2023 at Poblacion Kaputian, Island Garden City of Samal.
On October 30, 2023, a total of 17 dedicated volunteers, acting as the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV), lent their services to ensure a smooth electoral process.
Deployed strategically, the 17 EChamp Volunteers were divided into five groups, each assigned to specific barangays: Anonang, Poblacion, Libertad, San Remegio, and Sta. Cruz, their mission was clear – to contribute to the transparency and fairness of the election in their designated areas.
Amidst their duties, Bernard Silvano Jr., one of the volunteers, recounted the challenges faced during the election day. “Daghang tao ang gahig ulo, hilabina katong mga tiguwang ug mga dagko na, dili sila mo sunod sa linya, dali dalion pajud ka ug dili ma minaw sa amoang gihatag nga instructions,” shared Silvano.
Despite the hurdles, the volunteers exhibited resilience and patience in fulfilling their responsibilities.
Reflecting on their efforts, the ACD-CESEChamp Volunteers demonstrated a significant impact on the community. Their dedication and humanity played a crucial role in ensuring a fair and inclusive electoral process.
Despite the complexities encountered, the volunteers remained steadfast in upholding the values of transparency and accountability, making a lasting impression on the BSKE2023 at Poblacion Kaputian
