The Cebu-Bohol 4-Day Educational Tour, held from January 7 to 10, 2025, was an unforgettable experience that went beyond traditional classroom learning. Designed for students from the Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM), Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA), Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSEd), Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEEd), and Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) programs, the tour provided an immersive opportunity to explore various industries while also appreciating the rich history, culture, and natural beauty of Cebu and Bohol.
From visiting star-rating hotels and resorts, IT companies, business hubs, and educational institutions to witnessing historical landmarks and breathtaking natural wonders, the tour struck a perfect balance between education and adventure. It was an opportunity not only to expand academic and career knowledge but also to strengthen friendships and create lifelong memories.
One of the most valuable aspects of the tour was the exposure to different industries. Hospitality students gained firsthand experience in hotel operations, food and beverage service, and sustainable tourism practices by observing the daily functions of luxury hotels and resorts. Business administration students interacted with entrepreneurs, corporate professionals, and marketing strategists, gaining insights into financial management, branding, and operational strategies that drive successful enterprises. Teacher Education students visited schools, museums, and cultural institutions, where they observed diverse teaching methodologies and classroom management techniques, inspiring their future careers as educators. Information technology students explored the role of technology in various industries, focusing on cybersecurity, data management, and enterprise solutions, witnessing firsthand how IT plays a crucial role in modern business operations.
Beyond professional exposure, the cultural and historical significance of Cebu and Bohol added another layer of enrichment to the tour. In Cebu, students explored Magellan’s Cross, the Basilica del Sto. Niño and Fort San Pedro, deepening their understanding of the country’s Spanish colonial history.
In Bohol, they marveled at the Chocolate Hills, encountered tarsiers at the sanctuary, and enjoyed the Loboc River Cruise, where they immersed themselves in local culture through traditional Filipino music and performances. These experiences not only broadened their knowledge but also deepened their appreciation for the country’s heritage and tourism industry.
For many students, the tour was filled with exciting first-time experiences—whether flying on a plane, staying in high-end hotels, or seeing famous landmarks in person. The journey also strengthened bonds, as long bus rides, shared meals, and group activities fostered meaningful friendships. The presence of the tour guides made the trip even more engaging; their passion for history and storytelling kept students entertained, adding humor and valuable insights throughout the journey.
As the tour came to an end, students reflected on how much they had learned and experienced in just four days. It reinforced the importance of real-world learning, adaptability, and industry connections. Many returned with a clearer vision of their future careers, greater confidence, and a deeper appreciation for Philippine culture and history.
More than just an educational trip, this journey was a celebration of learning, discovery, and meaningful connections. The students were deeply grateful to World of Adventures Travel & Tours (WATT) and to their tour guides—Sir Rod, Sir Renz, Sir Gerald, Sir Rolly, Ma’am Bulak, and Ma’am Danica—for orchestrating such a well-planned and enriching experience. They also expressed their appreciation to the companies and industries that warmly welcomed them, shared their expertise, and contributed to making this adventure both insightful and unforgettable.
Cheers to the unforgettable memories created, the valuable lessons learned, and the friendships that grew stronger.
