The Assumption College of Davao – Office of Student Affairs proudly hosted its 5th Pinning Ceremony for the Academic Year 2023-2024 at the ACD Auditorium, Queen of the Universe Building, on January 18, 2024. The ceremony commenced with a solemn Eucharistic Celebration presided over by Rev. Father William Cajes, DCD. The mass served as a profound reminder to the 88 interns about the significance of embodying the school’s vision and mission, performing their ministries with dedication, and embracing steadfast commitment as individuals. Reverend Father Cajes’s words inspired attendees to continually challenge themselves and establish a character reflective of Jesus’ unwavering commitment to his mission.
Following the Eucharistic Celebration, the pinning ceremony unfolded with a total of 88 candidates presented by Hector S. Damaso, MAT, the RRMO Head. The diverse group of candidates included 9 from Bachelor of Elementary Education, 12 from Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in English, 5 from Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Mathematics, 3 from Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Science, 9 from Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Values Education, 14 from Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Major in Financial Management, 9 from Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Major in Human Resource Development Management, 7 from Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Major in Marketing Management, 12 from Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management, and 8 from Bachelor of Science in Information Technology.
The Dean of the College, Dr. Judith N. Ambalong, officially accepted these candidates as interns for the Academic Year 2023-2024, marking the beginning of their journey in embodying the values and principles instilled by Assumption College of Davao. To provide inspiration and motivation to the interns, Miss Mylen C. Cano, MBA-HRM, CGSP, the External Relations and Internationalization Officer of ACD, delivered a compelling speech titled ‘You Reap What You Sow.’ Miss Cano used the metaphor of sowing and reaping in agriculture to convey the message that the efforts and choices made today will have lasting consequences in the future. She encouraged students to invest effort, dedication, and positive energy into their academic and personal pursuits, knowing that they would eventually reap the benefits of their hard work.
The 5th Pinning Ceremony at Assumption College of Davao was not just a symbolic event but a moment of inspiration, guidance, and commitment as the interns embarked on their academic and professional journey, sowing the seeds for a promising future.
