Acquaintance Activity Ignites Unity and Friendship

The Elementary and Junior High School Units of the Assumption College of Davao welcomed the students with an Acquaintance Activity, held from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM last August 1, 2024. The event, designed to foster camaraderie among students, proved to be an unforgettable experience filled with lively team-building games, meaningful conversations, and the joyful formation of new friendships.

The day kicked off with a series of engaging activities that challenged students to work together, emphasizing the importance of collaboration. Some activities included Cheers and Yells, Poster Making, Longest Line, Hen and Chicks, Paint Me A Picture, Picture Puzzle, Manila Paper Game, and many more.

The event was not just about fun and games; it was also about recognizing the school’s advocacies. The learners were given the opportunity to brainstorm and portray the importance and purpose of each advocacy in a creative manner. They left the event with a renewed sense of belonging and a collective spirit that promises to carry them through the academic year.

“We discovered that teamwork is not just about working together but about understanding and valuing each other,” a student from Grade 7 St. Bernadette remarked. “This experience has made us realize that we are united, especially in the Manila Paper Game where we had to use all of the groups’ manila papers to cross and reach our destination.”

The Acquaintance Activity marked the beginning of what promises to be an incredible journey for the learners, filled with laughter, learning, and lasting bonds. As the learners returned to their classrooms, there was a palpable sense of excitement and optimism for the year ahead.

With the success of this event, Assumption College of Davao continues to uphold its commitment to nurturing not only academic excellence but also the social and emotional growth of its learners. The friendships formed and the lessons learned during this event will undoubtedly contribute to a strong, supportive, and dynamic school community.
