
Davao City, Philippines – February 17, 2025 — The Lyceum of the Philippines – Davao lit up with music and excitement during its founding anniversary celebration, headlined by the much-anticipated CLASH OF THE BANDS (COTB2025). Ten school bands from across the city battled for musical supremacy. Still, the Lunar Horizon Band from Assumption College of Davao stole the spotlight with their electrifying performance, clinching the 1st runner-up title.
The band, composed of a dynamic lineup of talented musicians from the senior high school unit, delivered a performance that captivated both the crowd and the judges. Limwel Zaragosa, Diana Giducos, and Jamella Baltazar led the vocals, whose powerful voices blended seamlessly. The band’s melodies were brought to life by Yuan Pioncio on keyboards, while Kirk Zeus Otero kept the rhythm solid on bass guitar. Driving the beat was drummer Arblake Sarsalejo, and the captivating riffs of Kian Emmanuel Miraflor on lead guitar, complemented by his cousin Ace Miraflor on rhythm guitar, completed the band’s harmonious sound.
The audience cheered as Lunar Horizon delivered a set marked by energy, passion, and precision. Their seamless collaboration and undeniable stage presence earned praise from judges and fellow competitors. The band’s journey to 1st runner-up out of 10 schools is a testament to their hard work, passion, and dedication to their craft.
The event was a key highlight of the Lyceum of the Philippines – Davao’s founding anniversary, fostering friendly competition and showcasing the region’s rich musical talent. The Lunar Horizon Band’s success brought pride to their alma mater, Assumption College of Davao, and added another milestone to their musical journey.
As the celebration concluded, the band members thanked their supporters and vowed to continue their passion for music.
