Last September 18, 2024, the Boy Scouts of the Philippines held its Investiture Ceremony for LANGKAY, KAWAN, and TROOP at Assumption College of Davao. The ceremony, which was attended by both Scouts and their proud parents, signified the formal induction of new members into the Scouting family. This memorable event highlighted the Scouts’ readiness to uphold the values of the organization: honor, service, and leadership.
The event began with the traditional opening rites, followed by the pinning of scarves, a symbolic act that marked the official transition of the students into their respective levels—LANGKAY (Kinder), KAWAN (Grades 1, 2, and 3), and TROOP (Grades 4 to 6). This rite of passage underscores the Scouts’ commitment to the Scouting Oath and Law, where they pledge to serve their community, respect others, and live with integrity.
For the elementary students, the investiture is an essential moment. It not only introduces them to the ideals of Scouting but also helps instill values of responsibility, leadership, and teamwork. As they don their Scout uniforms, these young learners embrace a journey that fosters holistic growth—developing physical skills, building emotional resilience, and nurturing moral character. This event marked the beginning of their lifelong adventure in becoming active and responsible citizens.
The ceremony concluded with inspiring words from Scout leaders, reminding the newly invested Scouts of the importance of their roles in the school and the larger community. The Investiture Ceremony serves as a foundation for these young Scouts to embark on various Scouting activities that will further challenge their abilities and deepen their sense of service.
This event is a significant reminder that the Scouting movement continues to shape future leaders, one Investiture Ceremony at a time.
