Anti- Sexual Harassment Awareness Seminar

The Office of the Students Affair held an educational seminar focused on the crucial Safe Spaces Act (RA 11313) at the ACD gym on August 6, 2024. The event aimed to empower students to understand and prevent sexual harassment, a topic of significant importance in our society.

Both the day and evening college students and teachers attended the “Empowering Students: Understanding and Preventing Sexual Harassment” event, demonstrating the institution’s commitment to fostering a safe and respectful learning environment.

Ms. Lorna B. Mandin, the speaker of this seminar, led the discussions and provided insights into the provisions of RA 11313, which combats gender-based harassment in public spaces, including educational institutions.

Additionally, she provided a comprehensive overview of the Safe Spaces Act, explaining its provisions and the various forms of gender-based harassment it addresses, from catcalling and stalking to more severe forms of sexual misconduct. Moreover, the students were educated on their rights, how to identify harassment, and the proper channel for reporting incidents.

Finally, the seminar concluded with an open forum, where students could ask questions and engage in a deeper discussion about their rights and responsibilities under the Safe Spaces Act.
